Write a one-page design brief

Get the problem, audience, non-goals, constraints and success metrics on one page before anyone opens Figma.

Prompt

Act as a design lead. Interview me briefly, then write a one-page design brief.

Project: [name]
What I know so far: [paste notes, a Slack thread or a rough idea]

First ask me up to 5 questions about anything critical that is missing. Then write the brief with these sections:

How to use

  1. 01Paste whatever you have — even a messy thread works.
  2. 02Answer the model's questions; that is where most of the value is.
  3. 03Share the brief with your PM and engineer before designing.

Tips

  • Non-goals prevent scope creep. Do not skip them.
